Seasonal Training Blocks

  • Seasonal Training Blocks are structured training periods offered throughout the year that focus on specific skill themes, physical development, and game application. Each block builds on the previous one to support long-term athlete development.

  • We believe athletes improve most through consistency and progression. Training in focused blocks allows players to master fundamentals, layer in advanced concepts, and apply skills in live situations—rather than jumping randomly from workout to workout.

  • Most Seasonal Training Blocks run between 6–8 weeks, depending on the time of year and training emphasis.

  • Each season emphasizes different priorities, such as:

    • Skill development (shooting, finishing, ball handling)

    • Game reads and decision-making

    • Strength, movement, and conditioning

    • Confidence, habits, and basketball IQ

Exact themes are shared before each block begins.

  • Training blocks are available for athletes in grades 6-12, with age-appropriate groupings and expectations. Athletes are placed in environments that challenge them while supporting proper development.

  • No. Athletes can join individual blocks. However, completing multiple blocks throughout the year leads to greater growth, continuity, and confidence.

  • Training in seasonal blocks helps athletes:

    • Develop stronger fundamentals through repetition and progression

    • Gain confidence from consistent coaching and expectations

    • Improve decision-making through game-like, purposeful reps

    • Understand why they are training, not just how

Instead of chasing constant workouts, athletes learn to train with focus and intent.

  • For families, seasonal training provides:

    • Predictable schedules and clear timelines

    • Transparent expectations and commitment windows

    • A professional, organized development model

    • Fewer scheduling conflicts and less pressure year-round

Families can plan ahead and clearly understand how training fits into their athlete’s overall development.

2026 Training Blocks

Winter: In-Season Maintenance (Jan-February)

This block is designed to support athletes during their competitive season through low-impact, intentional training. Sessions focus on fine-tuning skills, providing quality reps that may be limited in team practices, and building or rebuilding confidence during the second half of the season. Emphasis is placed on player recovery, efficiency, and injury prevention to help athletes stay healthy and effective.

Spring/Summer: Summer Ball Prep (May-June)

Summer Prep prepares athletes to compete at the AAU level and enter the spring and summer exposure season ready to perform. Training emphasizes individual skill development while also focusing on the qualities coaches value most, including basketball IQ, decision-making, competitiveness, and leadership. This block serves as a primary development and evaluation period for athletes looking to elevate their game.

Fall: Pre-Season Prep (September-October)

This block focuses on preparing athletes for the upcoming winter season. Training emphasizes skill development alongside performance elements such as speed, agility, conditioning, and overall readiness. Athletes are also introduced to team actions, concepts, and varying basketball philosophies to help them transition confidently into their school season.
